On May 21, Giovanna Vila and Yahayra Cornejo participated in the Internal Communication Forum organized by AmCham Peru (American Chamber of Commerce of Peru), representing BARLAW.
The event brought together professionals from various industries to reflect on current challenges in organizational communication, addressing topics such as leadership and crisis management, the execution of internal communication strategies, and the key skills required for the communicator of the future.

María Inés Herrera and Elizabeth Zavaleta participated as speakers in the academic webinar “E-commerce and Counterfeiting: Liability of Digital Platforms”, organized by IUS 360 of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, in which BARLAW took part as a collaborator.
During the event, the main legal challenges surrounding the liability of digital platforms in relation to the commercialization of counterfeit products were addressed.
We thank IUS 360 for the invitation and for creating these valuable spaces for academic discussion.

From May 31 to June 2, we will be attending the ASIPI Seminar in Asunción, Paraguay, where our firm will be represented by María Inés Herrera.

We share an article on Peru’s approval of the Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge, adopted within the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
This treaty represents a significant step at the intersection of intellectual property and biodiversity, introducing transparency mechanisms into the patent system, such as the obligation to disclose the origin of genetic resources and traditional knowledge used in inventions, thereby strengthening the protection of communities and preventing the improper granting of rights.
