Carlos Farfán and Dánica Barreto, participated in the 2026 Legal Forum: National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, organized by AmCham Peru.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss Peru’s new regulatory framework for Artificial Intelligence and the challenges its implementation presents for the private sector.

We are pleased to share that we have been recognized BARLAW in the 2026 edition of Copyright 1000 by IAM | WTR, an international ranking focused on Intellectual Property professionals and firms.

In this edition, BARLAW is the only firm in Peru recognized in the Gold category. At the individual level, Adriana Barrera is the only professional recognized in the Gold category, while María Inés Herrera is recognized in the Silver category.

These recognitions reflect the work, experience and commitment of our team in the field of intellectual property.

We also extend our congratulations to the other professionals and firms recognized in this edition of Copyright 1000.

Our lawyers, Giovanna Vila and Sandra Arredondo, attended this event organized by the Peruvian Trademark Office (Indecopi), which focused on copyright enforcement efforts addressing online infringements.

These opportunities for professional exchange and knowledge-sharing help us stay informed about the evolving challenges facing Intellectual Property in the digital environment.

As a result of the claim filed before the Peruvian Trademark Office (INDECOPI), we obtained the maximum fine allowed by law, equivalent to 150 UIT (US$247,747), against a company that imported rolls of fabric bearing signs similar to LOUIS VUITTON's trademarks.

In addition, the authority ordered the definitive seizure of the infringing products and the payment of costs and expenses in favor of LOUIS VUITTON.

Our Senior Partner, María Inés Herrera, will join this year’s conference, "The Evolution of the IP Boutique: Keeping it Niche", taking place from September 30 to October 1 in Toronto.

The event will gather specialized IP firms to discuss key topics such as responsible AI integration, modern marketing, succession planning, and strategic growth while maintaining a niche-focused practice.

We continue with our IP Training Program 2026.

On September 17, we conducted a training session for the Technical School of the National Police of Peru - Huánuco.

During the session, we shared key insights on intellectual property protection and enforcement, complemented by a brand fair focused on identifying genuine and counterfeit products, helping strengthen participants' capabilities.

We are pleased to share that our associate Renato Paredes will begin his LL.M. in International Studies in Intellectual Property Law and Data Law at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
