We continue with our IP Training Program 2026.On September 07, we conducted a training session for the Lima IP Police.During the session, we shared key insights on intellectual property protection and enforcement, complemented by a brand fair focused on identifying genuine and counterfeit products, helping strengthen participants' capabilities.

On July 24, an enforcement action was conducted at premises located in Comas district, where shoe soles allegedly bearing signs similar to trademarks and distinctive designs of protected models were being manufactured, as well as shoe soles and footwear accessories reproducing copyrighted characters without the authorization of their owners.

The action, carried out in coordination with the Police Division specialized against IP crimes, resulted in the seizure of 87 packages containing shoe soles and three aluminum molds intended for their manufacture. The trademarks and characters allegedly infringed included Nike, New Balance, Hello Kitty, and K-pop Demon Hunters, among others.

This case demonstrates that counterfeiting is not limited to finished products but also extends to their components and the tools used to manufacture them.

We continue with our IP Training Program 2026. On September 02, we conducted a training session for the Customs Officers of Paita.
During the session, we shared key insights on intellectual property protection and enforcement, complemented by a brand fair focused on identifying genuine and counterfeit products, helping strengthen participants' capabilities.

We continue to support the development of intellectual property in the region. For the fourth consecutive year, BARLAW is renewing its institutional sponsorship of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) for the 2026–2027 term.

This collaboration reaffirms our commitment to the strengthening and development of intellectual property, as well as to the forums that foster its study, dissemination, and evolution within the region.

We are pleased to welcome José Marquis, who has joined our firm as Senior Associate.

With 15 years of professional experience, José obtained his Law degree from Paris XI University and Toulouse 1 Capitole University in France, subsequently revalidated by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from Toulouse 1 Capitole University.

His arrival will further strengthen our Intellectual Property practice and contribute to the continued growth and development of our firm.

We are sharing an article about the new digital platform implemented by INDECOPI to check for final sanctions regarding intellectual property infringements.

The article examines the operation of the new Intellectual Property Infringers Registry, a tool that provides access to information on individuals and companies subject to final fines, as well as statistics on infringement types, fine trends, and the relevant adjudicating bodies.

It also highlights the registry's importance as an additional tool for background checks, risk assessment, and the prevention of intellectual property infringements, thereby contributing to greater transparency and reinforcing the deterrent effect of sanctions.
